When you think of a greyhound, you might think speed, or the race track, or sleek bodies set on long legs. But you may not think about the ongoing plight facing the dogs that are retired from racing or the dogs who never make it to the track in the first place. That’s our focus in this episode.
Jamie Holms joins Dr. Buzby this week to discuss her adopted greyhound, Iron Dog, and her personal experience fostering these beautiful animals as they start their lives “post-track”.
Jamie has 17 years of experience in the veterinary field, mostly in emergency and critical care. In a prior life she was an animal control officer and currently is a veterinary team manager for Adobe Animal Hospital in Los Altos, California.
