Medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) are fatty acids found in many foods, including dairy products, nuts, seeds, and oils. MCTs are classified based on the number of carbon atoms (C) they contain. The four types of MCTs are caproic acid (C6), caprylic acid (C8), capric acid (C10), and lauric acid (C12).
